Woodside RSPB Wildlife Garden

Woodside Wildlife Garden is the only RSPB garden of its kind in the whole of Scotland. The garden was designed to show how easy it is to attract wildlife to any garden.

Woodside is surrounded by trees and is visited by an amazing number of wild birds including: blue tits, great tits, coal tits, chaffinch, greenfinch, bullfinch, goldfinch, sparrows, dunnocks, siskins, blackbirds, wrens, thrush, waxwing, nuthatch and greater spotted woodpeckers. Cameras have been installed into nest boxes and by feeders so that you can view nesting and feeding birds in the viewing centre.

On site is a small pond that attracts frogs, toads, dragon and damselflies and has resident newts.

The surrounding area offers good walking as it is directly on St Cuthbert’s Way.  Red squirrel, peregrine falcon, buzzard, jay and roe deer can be regularly spotted in the area as can winter geese and whooper swans on the nearby Folly Loch. Woodland walks can be accessed from the car park at Woodside.

Woodside Wildlife Garden can be found within Woodside Garden and Plant Centre just off the A68. Turn off for Nisbet on the B6400. After 800 metres turn left and follow the road for the garden centre car park.

The garden is open all year except for 2 days at Christmas and New Year. Free Entry and Parking
